{"id":4210,"date":"2026-05-13T08:49:52","date_gmt":"2026-05-13T15:49:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.millardk12.org\/mhs\/?page_id=4210"},"modified":"2026-05-13T10:18:57","modified_gmt":"2026-05-13T17:18:57","slug":"driver-education-steps","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.millardk12.org\/mhs\/driver-education\/driver-education-steps\/","title":{"rendered":"Driver Education- Steps"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Steps to Obtaining a Driver&#8217;s License<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p>The DLD is the Drivers License Division<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>OBTAIN A LEARNER\u2019S PERMIT<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pass the 50 question written knowledge test.&nbsp; 80% is passing\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Utah Driver Handbook is available at<a href=\"https:\/\/zerofatalities.com\/learner-permit\/\"> <\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/zerofatalities.com\/learner-permit\">ZeroFatalities.com\/learner-permit<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Hand book is also available at the school in Mrs. Keel\u2019s office\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If an applicant does not pass the written knowledge test within three attempts, a new application should be submitted with a $19.00 fee.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Must be at 15 years old.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pass the vision test<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Documentation you will need at the DLD:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>&nbsp;test completion certificate, birth certificate, social security card, two forms of proof of address<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cost $19<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Teens under the age of 18 must have a permit for a minimum of 6 months before applying for a drivers license.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Teens must be at least 16 before applying for a drivers license<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Permit valid for 18 months<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>DRIVER EDUCATION CLASS<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In-person with <a href=\"mailto:Jeremy.teeples@millardk12.org\" data-type=\"mailto\" data-id=\"mailto:Jeremy.teeples@millardk12.org\">Mr. Teeples<\/a> during the Summer &#8211; Cost $100 or<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Online- <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mysescutah.gov\/\">mysescutah.gov<\/a> &#8211; Cost $60.00<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>ROAD INSTRUCTION &amp; TEST<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>After 40 hrs. of road practice are complete, pay the $100 driving fee.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Instructors: Tracy Keel and Jeremy Teeples<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>School months:&nbsp; after school (2:40 PM).
