Program Overview
What are Eagle Ambassadors?
The Eagle Ambassadors is a peer mentoring program that furthers the “S.O.A.R. Like an Eagle” school motto and overall system of positive behavioral supports.  Ambassadors are selected by their peers. They receive leadership training, model the “S.O.A.R. like an Eagle” motto and positive characteristics. They are a resource to their peers who need support and friendship (with a focus on incoming Freshmen). They plan monthly S.O.A.R activities for the student body to help promote a positive school climate. Eagle Ambassadors are students helping students to succeed.

The program has five components that contribute to its success:
1. Freshmen Transition – Eagle Ambassadors and freshmen start building the mentor relationship and freshmen receive information about how to be successful in high school.
2. Peer Support – Eagle Ambassadors help support all students in their sphere through interactions made throughout their day.  They look for ways to help other students socially, emotionally, and academically.  Ambassadors connect with students to increase student engagement and promote a positive school climate.
3. Modeling – Eagle Ambassadors model the “S.O.A.R Like and Eagle” motto and positive characteristics.
4. Activity Planning – Eagle Ambassadors promote the “S.O.A.R. Like an Eagle” motto and positive characteristics through planning school activities and assemblies that discuss these topics.
5. Training – Eagle Ambassadors will be trained monthly on topics to help them be mentors and leaders. These topics will include purpose of the program, strength, resilience, listening and communication skills, awareness and self-care, empowering others, guardianship (acting intentionally), time-management, being an example, setting goals, and service. The skills that are learned are relevant to their lives as well as all those around them.
