The SafeUT app provides a way to connect to licensed counselors that are ready to listen to any sized crisis or concern. Help is immediate and confidential.

Virtual Hope Box APP

Virtual Hope Box is a multi-media coping skill APP designed for individuals struggling with depression. The four main features of Virtual Hope Box include sections for distraction, inspiration, relaxation, and coping skill options. The distraction techniques include games that require focus, like Sudoku and word puzzles. The relaxation techniques offer a variety of guided and self-controlled meditation exercises. The coping techniques offer suggestions for activities that reduce stress. The inspiration section offers brief quotes to improve mood and motivation. The app can be used in collaboration with a mental health provider through the “coping cards” feature, which can be programmed to address specific problem areas. The relaxation tools can also be used with a clinical professional or other meditation partner, if desired.

MoodTools APP

This is a powerful free app that students can use to help regulate their mental/emotional wellbeing (these apps do not take the place of a competent mental health professional when needed). One APP to take a look at is MoodTools. This APP aims at helping users manage symptoms of depression through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) activities. The app contains a Thought Diary, to help users reframe negative thinking. The app provides educational information about depression, self-help guidelines, and links additional resources. Users can take the PHQ-9 depression questionnaire and track symptoms over time. MoodTools will also suggest a range of activities to the user, for example practicing gratitude, exercising, and mood can be tracked before and after completing the activity. Users can also create a safety plan to keep safe and access emergency resources during a suicidal crisis.

Relax Rain APP

This App allows you to enjoy the relaxing and soothing sound of rain falling: Forest Rain, Heavy Rain, Light Rain, Rain on Tent, Rain Shower, Sprinkle, Thunderstorm, Wind and Rain, all in a beautiful and easy to use interface. Benefits are: Helps with insomnia, get to sleep quicker, improve quality of sleep, blocks out distracting noise, boosts concentration by drowning out distracting thoughts with relaxing sounds, helps you stay calm & stress-free!

I Am Sober APP

The I Am Sober app features: Sober day tracker to visualize how long you’ve been sober, a remember why you quit feature where you add reasons and photos to help you remember why you want to quit your addiction and stay sober, a daily pledge tracker to start your day off by making a pledge to stay sober and allows you to review how your day went and log notes at the end of the day, a sobriety calculator where you can view how much money & time you’ve saved by being sober, a feature to analyze your triggers where you recap each day and find patterns that made your day easier or more challenging than the last, a share your story with others or for yourself feature where you can add photos and journal your progress directly in the app, a milestone tracker that allows you to celebrate your milestones from 1 day, to 1 week, to 1 month and beyond where you can share your progress if you want and read how others felt at this milestone and what you can expect, and a withdrawal timeline where you get an idea of what to expect for your next few days (and weeks) and be able to prepare yourself for what’s to come in recovery.
